Busy Bee!

Apologies for the lack of posts recently! I've been a very busy bee, making lots of goodies to sell at a craft fair this weekend, so all my evenings have been spent very industriously!

Above is a selection of the homemade smellies Mum & I have been making, soaps, bath bombs, bath melts & salts. I'm also selling lots of my sewn goodies, flower brooches, bunting etc as well as some photography prints.

If anyone is on the Tavistock area this Sunday, 25th Nov, come along to the craft fair in the Town Hall!

Buckland Abbey

Buckland Abbey on Dartmoor was the home of Sir Francis Drake. It is now owned by the National Trust and I've been visiting the building ever since I was a child as it is so close to where I grew up.
When my best friend Jamie came to stay at my mum's house in Plymouth for a few days I knew I had to take him to Buckand. Given his obsession with all things medieval and monk related and the fact that the site was inhabited by monks for 300 years I knew he'd feel right at home!

Graduation!

In the half term holiday Ash finally graduated! It feels like this has been a long time coming, and he has worked so hard, I'm so proud of him! So he's now a qualified primary school teacher, currently teaching year 1 (nightmare! I have no idea how he is that patient!)

I didn't know that his university colours were purple when I chose my dress, honestly! It;s coincidence that we match! My gorgeous grey & purple dress is vintage 1980s (just like me!) and I picked it up at the Bristol Vintage Fair for a bargainous £10! It turned out to be really see-through, so I'm wearing my mum's wedding slip underneath - keeping up the vintage theme then!

The beehive was a new hairstyle for me.... I loved it and will definately try it again!

Bristol Vintage Fair

Vintage buttons & threads

Some of the beautiful dresses on display

Almost too good to eat! Only 'almost'...!

What seems like ages ago now, but was actually only the end of October, my friend Bekah & I went to the Bristol Vintage Fair. One of the huge train sheds at Bristol Station was filled with vintage stalls, furniture, a live swing band and even an old fashioned sweet shop! We were in 7th heaven!
Bekah proved she had an eye for vintage, spotting a lovely floral jacket which she kindly said would suit me better, and picking out the best jewellery from a 'bargain bin' at one of the stalls. It took a couple of hours to work our way around every stall, but quite frankly we could have spent the whole day (and a very large amount of money!) if we could have!
Loved this dress! Perfect for swanning around in!

A couple jiving to the live swing band
